Rally Thursday July 2

This Thursday, July 2nd, come join Amnesty Chicago as we participate in a rally with the Iranian community in Chicago. This event will begin with a rally at noon at the Federal Plaza (50 W. Adams), followed by a march to the Turkish Consulate. Amnesty International USA is asking Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei to stop the use of excessive violence in responding to the demonstrations following the recent election. If you are unable to attend the rally/march, but want to urge Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei to stop the violence, you can take action online through the amnesty website.

Post Pride Parade


The interns took on the parade with clipboards in hand to petition for the protection of transgender people in Honduras. The crowd was tackled in groups of two-three interns. Strategy: target groups of people standing around in circles or sitting on the sidewalk. More pictures to come...

PRIDE!

This sunday, June 28th, PRIDEChicago is hosting their 40th Annual PRIDE parade!! The parade will step off at the corner of Halsted and Belmont at noon and proceed north on Halsted (to Broadway); then south on Broadway (to Diversey); then east on Diversey (to Cannon Drive) in Lincoln Park. Amnesty International USA Midwest Regional Office will be at this event, come join us!

Immigration Rally/Walk

Good Morning!

Today we have some exciting news there is an immigration rally/walk happening in Illinois/Chicago at 1:30 p.m. today! So if you're not busy please consider joining us! The rally/walk begins at 1950 Beach St. in Broadview, IL and it'll head west towards Cicero, it is being put on by the Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission!! Hope to see you there!

The summer interns have arrived!!

It's official the 2009 summer interns have begun their first week at the Midwest Regional Office! This summer there are fourteen of us, and we're all excited to begin our work!
